Simple blog designs are simply great!

Over the long run, I have observed one factor that encourages me to continue writing for specific blogs and the is it’s design. Since I write on several blogs that I own and manage, it’s easy to feel the pinch when you are reluctant to write on blogs that have complex and sophisticated designs.

A well written blog post looks awesome when seen on a reader friendly, clean and neat blog rather than on a content stuffed and complex designed blog.

Recently I did a redesign of one of my blogs - HippieMonk.com and this time made sure that the design is just very basic and simple and am really enjoying writing on the blog.

If you observe all the top blogs make it a point that readability, website loading speed and content are of top priority rather than a fancy website. I have seen better traffic results post shifting my blogs to a simpler and faster loading theme. Let me know what you think

The most discouraging first 6 months of Blogging

Often when you start a new blog you will be excited and enthusiastic in writing content, keyword research, SEO and promotion. I call this first month as the magical month! You will have the maximum amount of content written with high energy.

Second month onwards the content frequency will reduce and stay at a decent blogging frequency for around 3 – 4 months. You will enjoy the changes and growth in traffic throughout this period – I call it the reality month.

After the first 6 months its common that you find that the traffic and income are not showing much progress. This could be discouraging and can slow down your rigor and efforts. I call this phase as “the blogger’s itch”

How to overcome the Blogger’s itch?

It’s easy to overcome this situation, simply ignore the fact that the income and traffic is stagnant, keep consistently adding good content and work towards a long term goal. Eventually you will see a sudden and huge change that will again continue to motivate you further as a professional blogger.

How can Indian Bloggers manage and Pay Income Tax

If you are a blogger, website owner or Internet marketing expert who has started to earn money online, you will certainly have one new question in your mind – Do I have to pay taxes for this income I earn online? To learn more, read on..

For any type of income in the country, if it exceeds the tax exemption bracket, you are supposed to pay tax to the Government of India. The same applies for online business, blogging and website advertisement earnings.

The major channels of receiving your earnings are:

1. PayPal
2. Direct bank transfer
3. Paycheck

The above three methods are most common methods of getting paid for your online works. Google Adsense payments come as CITI bank check in rupees, affiliate payment comes in dollars to your PayPal account and ClickBank pays you directly to your bank account.

The common factor is that all these forms accounts are linked to your PAN card and this records all your income. If you are already employed and this is an additional income, you may pay the taxes under “additional income” or separately pay advance tax online.

Why Google PageRank can’t still be ignored

Even though Google continuously announces that Google PR is an internal website metric to gauge website quality it still remains one of the top reasons to influence your search engine results page ranks (SERP).

Yesterday there was the first and latest Google Page Rank update of the year 2012 (February 6th 2012) and most of the web masters reported a positive change in their website page ranks. Some of the web-masters did not experience any change in website page rank, even though the update was considered to be a major page rank update.

Why Google PR is still a vital metric? The major reason why website owners try hard for improving the website page rank is because PR contributes heavily to the search results algorithm.

How to improve website Google Page Rank? Google PR is like a reputation rank among the websites and on a scale of 0 to 10 anything above 1 or 2 is a decent rank and above 6 is considered to be high rank and reputation website.

Even though back links from high PR websites is considered to be the best method to improve page rank, building quality content and traffic though search engines can drastically improve your website’s page rank.

My 2 months old latest technology blog has achieved a PR 3 in the short time with just 80 high quality articles a d is already receiving considerable search traffic. I would recommend concentrating on content more rather than spending time on link building to improve your page rank. You can check your website page rank online to understand where your website is placed as per Google standards.

Blog topics that spread like Wildfire

There are several blog posts that we write but few of them really don’t work out in driving traffic. If you have not done a good keyword research before writing / publishing blog posts, it can certainly be the major reason for your blog post not fetching traffic.

If you are a website owner, you will certainly know that unknowingly you might have written on topics and later they went on to become hot topics on your blog. An effort to analyze the hot topics of your blog will prove very fruitful to build content on more similar topics.

Certain type of posts that have huge chances of becoming a hit are:

1. Social media related topics that are in demand and are already hot on the web
2. Controversial topics and posts that will attract the attention of any regular person
3. Mega posts that have In-depth details and information on any particular topic on demand.
4. Creative posts that will continue to glue your readers on to the website.

Some small but effective moves from your side as a webmaster could make your site a real mover n shaker! So get back to work and put on your thinking cap.
